Newly launched CineRock Studio, Chicago-based investment and production company, has opened a feature film fund for its inaugural production. The fund will raise capital for feature films produced around Chicagoland by Chicago crew, with production of its first film scheduled to begin this summer.

While Chicago has a rich independent film scene, the number of large budget feature films that hire local crew pales in comparison to cities like Los Angeles and New York. CineRock aims to change that by hiring exclusively Chicago-based cast and crew for its films.

Current CineRock advisors include Chicago-based filmmaker Michael Glover Smith and 2112 Film Stage Director Rob Tovar, and will accept both accredited and non-accredited investors.
